Joy Gardenia "Missy" Woods, age 69, peacefully passed away at the Springs Harrison in Arkansas. Joy was born on the 24th of March, 1955, in Charleston, Mississippi, to her loving parents Charlie Turner and Mildred Shelton Turner.
Affectionatley known as Missy, she worked as a seamstress showcasing her talent and creativity through her needle and thread. Apart from her career, Missy found immense happiness in simple pleasures. She enjoyed cooking, with her famous banana pudding being a favorite among family and friends. Family gatherings held a special place in her heart, cherishing moments spent with loved ones. Thrift stores, particularly Goodwill, were places where Missy found hidden treasures and shared laughter with those around her. Missy attended both the Willow Springs Assembly of God and Goodway United Pentecostal Church.
In the hearts of those who survive Missy, her memory will forever live on. Her son Charles Williford of Miami, FL, her daughter Deanna Rushing of Harrison, AR, her sister Charlotte "Skip" Hearn (Marty) of Oxford, MS, and her brother Douglas Turner of West Virginia remember Missy with love and fondness.
Missy's presence will be deeply missed by her grandchildren: Charles Williford Jr., Kimberly Williford, Judah Williford, Benjamin "Ben" Williford, Samantha Leverett (Michael), and John Michael Rushing (Trinity). She will also be remembered by her great-grandchildren Michael "Little Man" Leverett III and Olivia "Levy" Williams.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at Bethel Cemetery in Enid, MS.
