Joseph George Sherwood

Joseph George "Joe" Sherwood, age 69, passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital East on October 31, 2017. The family will hold a memorial service, celebrating the life of Joe, on Friday evening, November 3rd, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. on the top of the levee at Sardis Upper Lake. Joe was born February 17, 1948 in Lansing, Michigan. Joe was one of 4 children born to the late Harry Duane Sherwood and Rose Nelie Sherwood. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War. Joe had retired to N. MS and was a blackjack dealer in Tunica. Joe was a gentle soul, known to be a truly kind and caring person. Survivors include his brother; Harry Sherwood (Tricia) of Arizona, sister-in-law; Pam Sherwood of Batesville, 3 nieces, Samantha Walls, Ann Ingleson. and Olivia Sherwood, and 2 nephews; Steve Ingleson, and Billy Ingleson. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Sherwood,  his brother, Stan Sherwood and his sister, Stacy Sherwood Ingleson.Wells Funeral Home of Batesville has charge of arrangements.
