Livestream of Funeral Service Johnny Ray Johns, age 69, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the MS State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS. Funeral services for Johnny will be 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 6, 2022 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the funeral service. The interment will be held at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. Johnny was born on March 25, 1953 to the late Lemuel Maxwell Johns and Frances Marie Houston Johns in Batesville, MS. He honorably served our country in the United States Army and worked most of life as a welder. Johnny enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was hunting, gardening, or cutting grass. Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory include his longtime companion, Debbie Black Johns of Lambert, MS; two daughter, Angela Marie Johns of Garden Prairie, IL and Glenda Frances Hobbs Charlton of Daphne AL.; one son, Phillip Ellis (Kristina); his sister, Sissy Johns Wilson of Batesville, MS; and 5 grandchildren, Aaliyah Marie Souvenir Lemke (Durlin) of San Diego, CA, Noah Xavier Souvenir of Garden Prairie, IL, Elijah Paul Gibson of Garden Prairie, IL, Morgan Ellis, and Eva Ellis. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Kay Johns; two sisters, Diane Johns Ward and Mary Ida Johns Lequex; and two brothers, Reetus Earl Holliday, and David E. Johns.
