Jon Laughlin

Jon Laughlin, age 80, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Texas County Medical Center in Houston, MO.

A graveside service for Jon will be 2:00 P.M. on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. Bro. Jimmy Hardin will be officiating.

Jon was born on November 30, 1939 to the late Margarettee Jeanette Fuller and Eugene Laughlin in Texas. He worked for the Tennessee Gas and Pipeline for 39 years. He drew diagrams and graphs for the pipelines and also watched the pressure gauges. He was also a volunteer firefighter at station 4 in the Mt. Olivet community and served as Co-Captain. When Jon retired, he enjoyed woodworking and reading. He was a simple man with a loving and caring heart.

Those left behind to cherish his memory include his daughter, Cathy Miller Tutor (Keith Ashton) of Houston, MO; three sons, Jim Laughlin (Katie) of Humbolt, TN, Jeff Laughlin (Angie) of Killen, AL, and Jon Alan of Austin, TX; one step-son, Andy Miller of Sardis, MS; 20 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia A. Laughlin; two children, Diane Miller Wolfe and John Wesley Miller; one sister, Lana Margene Laughlin Young, and one brother, Val Laughlin.
