John Wesley Box, Sr., age 50, passed away Monday morning, November 11, 2019, near Grenada, MS from injuries received in an auto accident.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 14, 2019, at Willow Springs Assembly of God Church with interment to follow at Bethel Cemetery near Enid, MS. The family will be receiving friends Wednesday evening, November 13, 2019, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the church and also Thursday at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include, JJ Manues, Jimmy Manues, Rusty Porter, John Dukes, Tom Smalley, Bubba Dukes, Jimmy Dukes, and Allen Kendall.
Wesley was born September 11, 1969 in Leland, MS to the late Donald Leroy and Susie Kendall Box. He was foreman for Manues Recycling in Charleston, MS and was a member of Willow Springs Assembly of God Church. Wesley enjoyed hunting earlier in life and then took pride in making signs alongside his father. In his spare time, Wesley liked “tinkering” on show trucks and sitting down for a good meal. He was also a fantastic electrician. Most of all, Wesley had a deep love for family and especially his three grandchildren.
Wesley will be remember most by his family, which includes his daughter, Holly Box Chandler of Grenada, MS; son, John Wesley Box, Jr of Tillatoba, MS; four brothers, Wayne Box of Grenada, MS, Dave Box of Enid, MS, Boone Box of Batesville, MS, and JJ Manues of Charleston, MS; three grandchildren, John Hollingsworth, Justin Hollingsworth and Lila Chandler.
