Joan Maxey

Joan Keen Maxey, age 81, passed away Friday morning, January 10, 2020 at the Panola Medical Center in Batesville, MS. She was the widow of the late Jake W. Maxey.

The family will be having a private family memorial service on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

Joan was born December 26, 1938 in Coahoma County, MS to the late Homer Woodrow and Eunice Catherine Snyder Keen. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Joan will be remembered most by two daughters, Machelle Maxey Reid of Batesville, MS, Rebecca Maxey Russell of Batesville, MS; four sisters, Betty Keen Hyland of Batesville, MS, Judy Keen Johnson of Grenada, MS, Pat Keen Mason of Batesville, MS, Sandra Keen Harmon of Batesville, MS; two brothers, Jimmy Keen of Grenada, MS, Lacy Keen of Pope, MS; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Along with her husband and parents, Joan was preceded in death by a son, Terry Van Keen.
