Jimmy Loyd Mills

Jimmy Loyd Mills, age 68, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the Baptist DeSoto Hospital in Southaven, MS. He was the widower of Lisa Mills.

Funeral services for Jimmy will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with visitation beginning at 2:00 prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lambert Cemetery.

Jimmy was born May 29, 1950 to the late D.J. Mills and Lorene Farris Mills in Lambert, MS. He was a farmer and construction worker during his lifetime. Jimmy was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed fishing and frog hunting. Jimmy loved to coon hunt and was awarded the Grand Knight Award for coon hunters. He cherished spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren. Jimmy was a member of Blue Lake Baptist Church.

The loving family he leaves behind include this children, Misty Mills Farris of Rockwall, TX., Amy Mills Boykin (Gary) of Hernando; step children, Erica Hays Henry (Hunter) of Sardis, and Joshua Max Wilkinson (Caitlin Griffin) of Batesville; sisters, Martha Mills McCullar (Tommy) of Batesville, Glenda Mills Cosby (Ronnie) also of Batesville; brothers, Larry E. Mills (Marrette) of Oakland, and Charles Mills also of Oakland; grandchildren, Holly and Hannah Yancy and Chloe Farris.

In addition to his parents and loving wife Lisa, Jimmy was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Cornelison.
