Jim T. Rainey, Sr.

Jim Travis Rainey, Sr. age 80, passed away, September 10, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford.  He is the widower of Evelyn Dee Rainey. There will be a memorial service held for Mr. Rainey on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 prior to the service. Jim was born August 14, 1937 to the late Emmitt B. Rainey and Sophia Ruth Price Rainey in Milan, TN. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Jim  was a Division Safety Manager for UPS for the South East Territory.  He was a member of the Masons Avery Lodge # 593. Those he leaves behind to cherish his precious memory include his children; Evelyn Cherie Rainey Young of Hermitage, TN., and Jim Travis Rainey, Jr. of Sarah, MS., one sister, Glenda Johnson of Humbolt, TN., 5 grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
