Jewel A. McGehee

Jewel McGehee, age 88, passed away Thursday night, May 9, 2019 at her home in Sardis. She was the widow of Clyde McGehee.

Funeral Services for Jewel will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 at Wells Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Hebron Cemetery in Sardis.

Jewel was born June 4, 1930 to the late Ernest and Bessie Appleton in Sardis, MS. She worked in the cafeteria at North Panola Schools for 18 years. Jewel was a member of the Sardis Women's Club and the Sardis Heaflin House. She was an active member of Hebron Baptist Church. 

The loving family she leaves behind include four sons, Charles F. McGehee of Sardis, Larry McGehee (Myra) of Independence, Billy McGehee (June) of Sardis, John McGehee (Sandy) of Hernando; brother, Macel Appleton, Sr. of Sardis; sister, Jeannie Hardin of Nesbit; 8 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband Clyde, Jewel was preceded in death by one son, Clyde McGehee, Jr.
