Jerone Blake Toliver

Jerone Blake Toliver, age 82, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2022 at Quitman County Health and Rehab in Marks, MS.

There will be a graveside service held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Crowder Cemetery in Crowder, MS.

Jerone was born August 9, 1939 to the late Allen Henderson Toliver and Grace Burke Toliver in Crowder, MS. Jerone graduated from Crowder High School, where he played football, and went to work for the US Corp of Engineers as a First Mate on the Dredge Potter, St. Louis District, from which he retired. Jerone was an accomplished welder. He loved gardening and was always known to have a large vegetable garden to share with friends. He also raised hogs, chickens, and guineas. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and going to hunting camp with his relatives.

The loving family he leaves behind includes his children; Melissa Toliver of Courtland, Matthew Toliver of Missouri, Vonnie Carroll of Batesville, Jody Loness and Jesse Loness both of Missouri, Jerone Blake Toliver, Jr. (Debbie) of Connecticut, Anita Jo Creel, Stephen Maurice Toliver, Tarra Hamby (James), and Noah Lynn Toliver, (Sarah) all of Sardis; 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jerone was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Toliver; two children; Michelle Loness, Jason Loness; five brothers, Kenneth Toliver, Carlton “Collie” Toliver, Mike Toliver, Dennis “Dent” Toliver, Maurice Toliver, and two sisters, Betty Jo Griffin, Ella Mae Shankle.
