Lonnie Jeffery Curtis, affectionately known as "Jeff", passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 surrounded by family at his home in Batesville, MS. He was just one day shy of his 64th birthday.
A memorial service to celebrate Jeff's life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with family receiving friends at 5:00 p.m.
Jeff was born on March 16, 1961 to the late Lonnie Junior Curtis and JoAnn Sanders Curtis in Haiti, Missouri. He devoted 20 years of his life to his work as a supervisor at the former Air Kontrol in Batesville, MS.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jeff was also a gifted artist whose love for painting and drawing was evident in his earlier years. As time passed, he developed a passionate interest in sports, particularly baseball and men's softball, where he made lasting friendships and found great joy in the thrill of the game. Jeff was also an avid walker, he cherished the beauty of the outdoors, often enjoying walks at the Batesville Mounds.
Family was incredibly important to Jeff, and he found immense joy in the company of his grandchildren. The laughter and love shared with them filled his life with happiness, and he treasured every moment spent together.
The family Jeff leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of over 40 years, Becky Curtis of Batesville, MS; his two daughters, Betsy Anderson and her husband, Scott, and Brittaney Curtis both of Batesville, MS; his grandmother, Earlene Sanders of Campbell, MO; two brothers, Perry Curtis and Kevin Curtis and his wife, Mary Ann; his grandchildren, Trace, Tate, and Taylor Anderson, and Easton, Addison, and Teegan Curtis; his nieces and nephews, Keely Curtis, Cody Curtis, Bryce Curtis, Cerys Curtis, Quillen Curtis, and Morgan Curtis.
