Jay Appleton

Justin Jay Appleton, age 47, of Sardis, MS, passed away Friday, February 8, 2019, at his home in Sardis, MS.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 12, 2019, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends beginning at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday morning prior to the service.

Jay was born December 12, 1971 in Sardis, MS to Macel Vernon Appleton, Sr. and the late Aughty Jean Dye Appleton. He was a 1990 graduate of North Delta School in Batesville, MS and honorably served his country in the MS National Guard. Jay was a Project Manager for CS3 in Memphis, TN, and, in his spare time, enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved his fury companion, "Blue", and taking care of his horses. Jay's greatest accomplishment in life was his two children, whom he loved and adored more than life itself.

Jay's memory will be cherished by his daughter, Emily Appleton Mackey (Jonathan) of Batesville, MS; son Justin Wyatt Appleton of Sardis, MS; father, Macel V. Appleton, Sr. of Sardis, MS; two brothers, Macel V. Appleton, Jr. of Pope, MS and Jimmy Appleton of Pope, MS.
