Janis Lynn Davidson Hollis, age 63, passed away Tuesday morning, October 23, 2018, at her home near Batesville, MS.
Janis was born December 20, 1954 to Carole Bishop Davidson Frayser of Senatobia and the late Joe Lee Davidson, Sr. in Hayti, Missouri. During her lifetime she earned a master's degree in elementary education and taught 4th and 5th grade for many years. She then took over as the school librarian for the South Panola School District. When Janis was not teaching she enjoyed reading, cooking, working in her garden, and needle point.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her loving memory include her husband, Ron Hollis of Batesville, MS; her children, Jeremy Wills of McCool, MS and Jason Wills (Addison) of Batesville, MS; one step-son, Doug Hollis of Oxford, MS; one sister, Jennifer Davidson DeLoach of Batesville, MS; two brothers, James Lee Davidson of Natchez, MS and Joe Lee Davidson of Gulfport, MS; her mother, Carole Frayser of Senatobia, MS and two grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joe Lee Davidson, Sr.
The family will be having a private memorial service and ask that in lieu of flowers donations in memory of Janis may be made to the Batesville Public Library located at 206 Highway 51 North in Batesville, MS. Wells Funeral Home of Batesville has charge of arrangements.
