James Wood

James E. "Jim" Wood, age 73, passed away Thursday morning, December 13, 2018, at his home in Memphis, TN.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with visitation beginning at 12 noon. Interment will follow the service at Longtown Cemetery. 

Jim was born September 16, 1945 to the late James Elmer Wood, II and Marguerite Stewart Wood in Memphis, TN. Jim was a Master plumber by trade. He was the owner of Jim Wood Affordable Plumbing for 30 years in Memphis. He also worked for the City of Memphis as a plumbing inspector for 4 years. Jim loved fishing and hunting. He was of the Baptist Faith.

The family he leaves behind include his loving wife, Sherry Matthews Wood of Memphis, TN.; 2 children,
Margie Wood May of Oxford, and Matthew Glover (Dierdra) of Pittsburg, PA.; 3 grandchildren, Jordan, William and Robert.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by one daughter, Angela Wood.
