James Wesley Whitaker, II

James Wesley Whitaker, II, age 78, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at the Grenada Living Center in Grenada, MS.

James was born on May 10, 1941 to the late Elmer Whitaker and Lottie Edna Smith Whitaker in Earl, Arkansas. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy and worked as an Industrial Manager. James was of the Baptist faith. He was the widower of Emily Alta Bilbrey Whitaker. They were married for 54 years.

Those he leaves behind include his children, Cynthia Caffey (Kenneth), Andrea Lynn “Susie” Whitaker Lucius, and James Wesley “Jim” Whitaker, III (Lucy) all of Grenada, MS; one sister, Evelyn Donahue of Florida; one brother, Steven Whitaker of Alaska; 9 grandchildren, Christina Hood, Stephanie Moore, Samantha Brown, Jeffery Robinson, Jessica Robinson Brown, Justin Robinson, James Wesley Whitaker, IV, Karron Whitaker, and Lilith Alice Winters; and 10 great grandchildren.

Along with his parents and wife, James is preceded in death by one daughter, Rhonda Kay Whitaker; two siblings, Carroll Whitaker and Marvin Whitaker; and one great grandson, Jerry Lee Whitaker Smith.

There will be no services held.
