James R. Sorrells

James R. "Buddy Bob" Sorrells, age 76, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2023 at his home in Batesville, MS.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Curtis Union Church Cemetery with Rev. Keith Bolen officiating.

James was born on November 1, 1946 to the late Rodric B. and Venis Card Sorrells in Panola County, MS. He worked as a farmer his entire life and was avid fisherman.

The family he leaves behind to cherish his memory includes his wife, Jeanette Sorrells of Batesville, MS; three children, Stacy Sorrells Mills (Dino) of Darling, MS, Jason R. Sorrells of Como, MS, and Robert Andrew Sorrells of Batesville, MS; three step-children, Vanessa Ealy of Arkabutla, MS, Orval Ealy, III of Dundee, MS, and Kelli Mussa of Little Rock, AR; one sister, Sandra Sorrells Pitcock of Batesville, MS; 6 grandchildren, Jessica Allbritton, Zach Inman, Anna Wiggins (Hunter), Hunter Sorrells, Robert Addison Sorrells, Braxton Elmore, and Abigayle Faith Sorrells; one step-grandchild, Megan Campbell; and 2 great grandchildren.
