James Simmerman

James E. "Jim" Simmerman, age 71, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN. He was the husband of Lynn Simmerman of Como.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 Friday evening at Wells Funeral Home. Due to the statewide mask mandate we ask that mask are worn during visitation and social distancing is practiced please. Interment will be held at the VA National Cemetery in Cornith, MS. on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 12:00 noon.

Jim was born August 10, 1948 to the late Albert Simmerman and Mary Katherine Adams Simmerman in Sardis, MS. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He was a retired crop duster and a member of Como First United Methodist Church.

The loving family he leaves behind include his wife, Lynn Russell Simmerman of Como; one son, Frank Russell Simmerman of Oxford; sister, Linda Kelly Flores (Dan) of Como; brother, Robert Earl Simmerman (Cammie) of Sardis; nieces, Randi Austin, Lindsey Katherine Simmerman; nephew, Robert Ethan Simmerman; and one grandaughter, Hailey Anne Simmerman.
