James Mavis “Jimmy” Cobb, age 74, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven, MS.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 31, 2019 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening, March 30, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M., and also one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include, Bill Purdy, Jimmy Martindale, David Allen, Wayne Moore, Joe Griffin and Tripp Thomas.

Jimmy was born August 31, 1944 in Lambert, MS to the late Mavis and Willie Mae Roberts Cobb. He was a retired Conductor for CN Railroad and was a member of Pope Baptist Church. Jimmy honorably served his country in the Mississippi National Guard. In Jimmy’s spare time, he enjoyed working in his garden, along with fishing and hunting.

Jimmy’s loving memory will be cherished by his wife, Doris Moore Cobb of Enid, MS; two sons, Todd Cobb (Gwen) of Tyro, MS, Walter “Ike” Cobb (Heather) of Enid, MS; four grandchildren, Maranda Cobb Flinn (Rocky) of Cache, OK, Will McGee of Memphis, TN, Walker Downs of Enid, MS, Wyatt Downs of Enid, MS; two great-grandchildren, Grayson Flinn and Corbyn Flinn both of Cache, OK.
