Hubert S. Griffin, Jr.

Hubert Griffin, Jr., age 84, passed away Friday, January 22 at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN. Mr. Griffin was the widower of the late Dorothy Ann Griffin.

The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 25, 2021 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Due to the inclement weather for Monday, the interment will be Tuesday at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS.

Hubert was born January 24, 1936 in Memphis, TN, to the late Hubert S. Griffin, Sr. and Jane Bailey Griffin. He was a retired truck driver and was of the baptist faith. Hubert enjoyed fishing when he could, talking about the Bible and adored his great-grandchildren.

Hubert is survived by his two daughters, Brenda Griffin of Tunica, MS, Heather Purser of Whitehaven, TN; sister, Peggy Griffin of Michigan; two half-sisters, Nora Joyce Griffin of Tennessee, Pamela Wood of Florida; three great-grandchildren, Jenna Williams, Joecyln Williams and Jada Williams.

Along with his wife and parents, Hubert was preceded in death by his two grandchildren, Shelby and Jamie Purser.
