Gracie Lane Messer

Gracie Lane Messer, age 72, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 30, 2019 at her daughter's home in Strayhorn, MS.

Funeral services for Gracie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 3rd, 2019 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 at Wells Funeral Home.

Gracie was born may 15,1946 to the late Terrell Reese and Mittie Mae Gray Reese in Hamilton, MS. She enjoyed taking care of her family during her lifetime. Gracie was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed singing, dancing, and working in her yard.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her loving memory include 2 daughters, Marie Kitchens of Oxford, and Gayla Cooper of Strayhorn; 3 sisters, Sarah Goodwin of Memphis, TN., Sue Ables of Coffeeville, and Betty Peeples of Greenwood; 2 brothers, Rob Reese of Amory, and Thomas Reese of Scobey; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Gracie was preceded in death by the father of her children, Tony S. Daugherty and several sisters and brothers.
