Gilmer E. Jolley, Jr.

Gilmer E. "Gil" Jolley, Jr., age 71, passed away at his home in Batesville, MS Thursday, August 22, 2019.

A memorial service will be Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.

Gil was born on August 1, 1948 to the late Emma Virginia Hughes and Gilmer Edward Jolley, Sr. in Ocean Springs, MS. After graduating high school he honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a former truck driver for ACI Building Systems. He also sold shrimp and vegetables to his community. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Batesville.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his loving memory include his four daughters, Emma Jolley Foster of Batesville, MS, Lisa Jolley Daniels of Cheyenne, WY, Emily Brooke Brasher of Batesville, MS, and Amy Jenkins Wilson also of Batesville, MS; seven grandchildren, Novan J. Foster, Courtney N. Foster, Charles Jolley, William K. Jolley, Addi Rose Brasher, Nelson H. Jenkins, and Wesley Allen Wilson; and four great grandchildren, Aaliyah Foster, Maci Foster, Paisleigh Domingue, and Gibson Hayes Jenkins.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Duke Jolley, and one sister, Doris Ann Jolley.
