Georgia Burks

Georgia Mae Eads Burks, age 93, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at her home in Southaven, MS. 

A graveside service for Georgia will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Center Hill Cemetery in Courtland, MS. Bro. Jimmy Smith will be officiating.

Georgia was born on May 13, 1930 to the late Luther R. and Mary Bell Houston Eads in Mississippi. She worked at several warehouses throughout her lifetime and was a member of Horn Lake Assembly of God. 

The family Georgia leaves behind includes her two children, Betty Foster and Eddie Burks (Teresa) both of Southaven, MS; three siblings, Florence Ophelia Sills of Southaven, Joyce Harding (Charles) of Nesbit, MS, and William "Bobby" O'Neal of Michigan; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. 

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Fred Burks; one daughter, Janice Howlett; one grandson, Tony Burks; two sisters, Louise Aldridge and Terisa Painter; and five brothers, James Eads, Thomas "Bunk" Eads, Doyle Eads, Dwight Eads, and Billy Eads.
