George Dalton “Sonny” Brower, Jr., age 81, passed away early Friday morning, June 5, 2020 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS.

Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2020 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow at Crowder Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends two hours prior to the service.

George was born on August 31, 1938 to the late George Dalton Brower, Sr. and Annie Bell Parish Brower in Lambert, MS. He was a retired machinist for Black and Decker. He will be missed dearly by his loving family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Toliver Griffin Brower; one sister, Betty Ware; and two brothers, Norman Ray Brower and Sammy Brower.

The family he leaves behind to cherish his memory includes his daughters, Bonita Austin (Tom), Kim Brower (Danny), both of Courtland, and Felisha Willis (Keith) of Batesville; step-daughters, Christy “Sissy” Caine, and Krissy Griffin Austin both of Courtland; one son, Rusty Brower (Michelle) of Batesville; two step-sons, Michael Wayne Griffin of Batesville, MS, and Joe Griffin of Pope; three sisters, Ann Bowie of Rosedale, Marilyn Austin of Courtland, and Brenda Snider of Crowder; one brother, Kenny Wayne Brower of Enid; 9 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 11 step-great grandchildren.
