Gene Autry White

Gene Autry White, age 78, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.

Funeral services will be 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family receive friends two hours prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M.

Gene was born February 5, 1940 in Lafayette County, MS to the late Andrew and Birdie Jenkins White. He worked for The Thermos Company in Batesville, MS for many years before becoming disabled. Gene felt a great amount of joy when he was working in his yard, and while riding his bicycle. He loved to take long walks. Gene attended Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville, MS.

Gene is survived by his loving family, which includes, three sisters, Dianne Gray of Fulton, MS, Janice Cook of Oxford, MS, Donna Paterson of Southaven, MS; three brothers, Quay White of Courtland, MS, C.W. White of Oxford, MS, Johnny White of Oxford, MS; nephew, Randy Kizer of Batesville, MS; great-niece, Megan Sealy of Oxford, MS; great-nephew, Brandon Kizer of Batesville, MS and a host of other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his sister, Faye Houston.
