Frankie Bridges Hudson

March 10, 1940 — May 25, 2022

Frankie Bridges Hudson went home to Jesus on Wednesday, May 25 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Her family was there by her side as she made the transition to her heavenly home.

There will be a memorial gathering for the family and friends of Frankie held on Friday, May 27, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Lambert United Methodist Church. Rev. Boyd Smith and Rev. Floyd Smith will officiate.

Frankie was the daughter of the late Lena Grice and Willie Frank Bridges. She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Hudson, her three brothers, and two sisters.

Frankie is survived by two daughters, Natalie Whitworth and Christi Franklin (Charlie) both of Batesville, MS; one son, Kevin Miller (Melanie) of Senatobia, MS; and her two sisters, Maxine Bailey of Collierville, TN, and Vera Mullins of Batesville, MS. She leaves eight grandchildren and one great grandson, whom she all adored. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and friends to miss her and mourn her loss.

Frankie was a retired manager of the Farmers Grain Elevator. She will be most remembered by her love for coaching softball and basketball. Before she coached, she played herself. She was an outstanding basketball player at Lambert High School. She coached softball and Upward basketball until her seventies. She loved the games, but most of all she loved the players and the fans.

Frankie was a member of Crowder Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Lambert United Methodist Church. She organized the Lambert Youth Choir and even got a bus for them to go on road trips. Frankie directed this choir without knowing a note of music, but she did know how to tell the members about Jesus.

Frankie Hudson was an amazing lady who dedicated her life to serving God and giving selflessly to provide opportunities for children of all ages to participate in Christian activities. From the Youth Choir Leader of the 1970’s to Upwards Basketball Coach in 2012, she was always willing to “change the times” to do whatever necessary to share Christ.

If you would like to honor Frankie with a memorial, the family suggest a donation to the Crowder Baptist Church, the Lambert United Methodist Church, or a donation of your choice.
