Fay Morris Raines, age 86, passed away at her home in Batesville on December 26, 2022. She was the wife of Durl Raines.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, December 29, 2022, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. The family will be receiving friends prior to the service on Thursday beginning at 1:00 P.M.

Fay was born July 31, 1936 in New Albany, MS to the late Johnnie and Myrtle Morris. She was a retired bookkeeper and member of the First United Methodist Church in Batesville, MS. Fay and husband loved traveling all over the country visiting new places and spending time with their many friends. During the summer months, she took great pride working in the vegetable garden and canning what they had grown. Playing solitaire has always been a favorite card game of Fay’s, but what Fay loved most was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fay’s memory will be cherished most by her loving and caring husband, Durl W. Raines; her children, Linda and Roger Raines; six grandchildren, Jay Scott, Drew Baker, Corbin Baker, Taylor Raines, Casey Sisk, Chelsea Raines and seven great-grandchildren, Mila Baker, Noelle Baker, Noah Baker, Moseley Baker, Mae Baker, Lylah Raines and Salem Raines.

Along with her parents, Fay was preceded in death by two children, Timothy Raines and Brenda Baker.
