Eunice Marie Slaughter "Pete" Mills, age 69, passed away early Thursday morning, February 1, 2018, at her home in Pope, MS.
Funeral services for Pete will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00. Rev. Derrick Simmons will officiate the service.
Pete was born January 9, 1949 to the late Neil and Virginia Thomas Slaughter in Charleston, MS. Pete was of the Methodist Faith. Pete lived a full life, devoted to taking care of her family. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and word search books. She also enjoyed fishing. Most of all, Pete loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Those she leaves behind to treasure her loving memory include her husband of 54 years, Billy F. Mills, Sr. of Pope; her children, Connie Mills Jaudon and Billy F. Mills, Jr. (Debbie) both of Pope; grandchildren, Whitney Jaudon Holloway (Andy), Lindsey E. Jaudon, and Cody Mills (Megan); great grandchildren, Katelynn Holloway, Hailey Beth Holloway, Kristen Holloway, James Holloway, Brayden Mills, Hallie Locke, Hadley Grace Morris, Caylei Morris, Walker Mills, and Abygail Redwine; and 1 brother, Claude Neal "Slick" Slaughter of Grenada.
In addition to her parents, Pete is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Linda Bridges, Sue Zoder; and 1 brother, Buddy Slaughter.
