Eugene William Eidson

Eugene William "Gene" Eidson, age 67, passed away Friday evening, October 12, 2018, at his home in Pope, MS. Mr. Eidson was the widower of the late Victoria Lynn Roebuck Eidson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 16, 2018, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with military honors to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 12:00 P.M. prior to the service Tuesday.

Gene was born March 7, 1951 in Garden City, MI to the late Chloe T. And Alice Jeanine Rodgers Eidson. He was a retired delivery driver for Scott’s Petroleum and honorably served his country in U.S. Army. Gene was a member of Wray’s Chapel Church of Godin Pope, MS and attended Lighthouse Church in Crowder, MS.

Gene’s loving memory will be cherished by his two daughters, Mary Eidson Welch (Adam) of Pope, MS, Addison Eidson (Austin Ellis) of Horn Lake, MS; son, Edward “Eddie” Eidson (Brandy) of Southaven, MS; six grandchildren, Emily Eidson, Katie Eidson, Caleb Howard, Anna Bella King, Nikki Welch, Brayden Welch; one great-grandson, Lane Everett Ellis.

Other than his wife and parents, Gene was preceded in death by three sisters, Carol Ann Jackson, Margaret Coleman, Mary Eidson and one brother, Buddy Eidson.
