Ethel O. Santucci, age 87, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 24, 2017 at Sardis Community Nursing Home in Sardis, MS. Ms. Santucci is the widow of Raymond Santucci.
A Prayer and Word Service for Ms. Santucci will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Batesville. The family will receive beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. There will be a committal service held at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, TN.
Ethel was born February 1, 1930 to the late Charles and Grace Murry O'Neal in Memphis, TN. She worked as a bookkeeper in Memphis until retirement from Holiday Inn Credit Union, at which time she and her husband moved to Pope, MS. Ethel and Raymond enjoyed their time together square dancing. Ethel was quite a bowler, winning more trophies than you could count. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her family. Ethel was a giving person with a big heart. She was very involved in her community, always giving of her time. She was active with Save-a-Life where she helped mentor young women. She was a member of the Lions Club and was quick to volunteer in so many of their community projects. Ms Santucci was a active communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She leaves behind 2 sons; Raymond Anthony "Andy" Santucci of Memphis, TN, Patrick Steven "Steve" Santucci of Austin, TX, 2 sisters; Arlene Dickey and Daisey Smith both of Huntsville, AL, 1 brother; Gerald Roberts of Pope, 4 grandchildren; Allie Milnes, Anni Santucci, Tony Santucci and Ashley DaLomba, and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ms. Santucci is preceded in death by 1 sister; Jaunita Brown and 1 brother, Jack O'Neal.
