Eric Guthrie

Eric Samuel Guthrie, age 37, passed away, Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 7, 2019 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. The interment will follow the funeral service in Forrest Memorial Park.

Eric was born June 27, 1982 in Oxford, MS to David Samuel Guthrie, Jr. and Debbie Gwen Wood Guthrie. Eric was a graduate of North Delta School in Batesville, MS and went to receive his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Memphis. Eric was currently an Associate Application Analyst R.N. with Baptist One Care Corporate. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville, MS.

When Eric wasn’t working, he enjoyed spending time with friends going to movies, road trips and cruises. His eye for detail could be seen his decorating. Eric had a keen sense of keeping up with technology, but among his favorite things to do was, spending time with his family especially at Christmas. His other hobbies included playing games and dancing.

His loving memory will live on through his mother, Debbie Guthrie of Batesville, MS; father and step-mother, David Samuel Guthrie, Jr. (Patsy) of Oakland, MS; sister, Ashley Guthrie Roebuck (Bryan) of Batesville, MS; step-sister, Megan Wallace Lawrence (Hunter) of Batesville, MS; half-brother, Jeremy Gedding Guthrie of Greenville, S.C.; grandmother, Mary Ledbetter of Batesville, MS; grandfather, Sykes Wood of Grenada, MS; three nephews, William Tyler Egbert of Batesville, MS, Owen and Baren Roebuck of Batesville, MS.
