Emily Rebecca Lamar, age 49, passed away Saturday morning, July 25, 2020, at Desoto Health Care in Southaven, MS. Emily was born on July 16, 1971 to the Caroline Jagers Bell Lamar and the late Percie Lee Lamar, III in Bryan, Texas.
She was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Olive Branch, MS. After graduating from high school in Memphis, TN., she attended Coahoma Jr. College in Clarksdale MS., and the University of Southern MS. in Hattiesburg. She loved animals and had an extremely close bond with Cocoa, her lab; she always had Cocoa by her side! Listening to rock music was a favorite pastime of hers. She and her dad enjoyed many concerts together. Emily enjoyed visiting her grandmother, Katherine Lamar, in Lambert, MS. she lived there with her grandmother for several years. She and her dad always looked forward to the homecooking and desserts such as pecan pie, that Grandmama prepared especially for them.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Frank Aubrey Bell, Jr. and Sara Jagers Bell; paternal grandparents, Percie Lee Lamar, Jr. and Katherine Savage Lamar; her Uncles, Frank Hugh Bell, Glenn Lucas Lamar along with Glenn's wife Kathy Califf Lamar.
Those left behind to cherish her memory include her mother, Carolyn Lamar of Olive branch; Three aunts, Carolyn Lamar Dancy (Chris) of Lambert, Evan Lamar Parks (Enoch) of Oxford, and Pat Bell of Madison; and many loving cousins.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Donations for the Lupas Foundation of America or the Humane Society of your choice can be made in Emily's honor.
