Edna McRee Sorrells

Edna McRee Sorrells, age 85, passed away Thursday night, November 23, 2017 at Sardis Community Nursing Home in Sardis, MS. She is the widow of L.B. Sorrells. Funeral services for Mrs. Sorrells will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with visitation beginning at 2:00 prior to the service. Interment will follow at Hebron Cemetery near Sardis. Rev. Rusty Roberson will officiate. Marie was born in Panola County, MS to the late Russell Samuels and Odessie Moore Samuels. She was a homemaker during her lifetime and a member of Hebron Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Pat Sorrells Stokes of Batesville, Russell Lynn Sorrells and Floyd Randy Sorrells both of Sardis, her brother; Bud Samuels of Sardis, 9 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her husband, L.B. Sorrells, her daughter, Edna Dianne Sorrells Jenkins and her twin sister, and one son, Kenneth Bob Sorrells.
