Edith Marie Miller Horn passed away on October 30, 2023, at The Lodge at the Lane Nursing Home in Zachary, LA. She was 103.

Known as Marie to her friends and family, and 'Rie to her sisters, she was born June 6, 1920 to the late John Miller and Letha Merriam Miller in Rienzi, MS. For many years she worked at Batesville Hosiery Mill, but she was known as a caregiver. In their final years, she lovingly looked after her husband, as well as her sisters and her brother. Caring for others is what she did. 

Funeral services for Ms Marie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 4, 2023, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 prior to the service. Interment will be held at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville. 

Marie is survived by her daughter, Judy Horn Lowery (Doug) of Vancleave, MS; her son, Ray Horn (Nancy) of Zachary, LA; grandchildren, Brent Walker (Kelly), Kelly Horn Davis (Chris), Natalie Walker Shears (Rich), Cliff Horn (Sara), and Clay Horn (Adrienne); great grandchildren, Elizabeth Walker, Kolby Walker, Joshua Davis, Jeffrey Davis, Caleb Horn, and Clara Horn; and one great-great grandchild, Kenzie Walker.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roy O. Horn; a brother, Clyde Miller; and three sisters, Elvie Strickland, Jewel Ragon, and Opal Moore.
