Dorothy Anne Lloyd

Dorothy Anne Lloyd, age 65, passed away February 23, 2019 at her home in Pope, MS.

Dorothy was born October 26, 1953 to Dorothy R. Brown Dempsey and the late Jay R. Dempsey in Philadelphia County, PA. Dorothy worked as the secretary for the School of Engineering at the University of Mississippi. When not working at the University, she enjoyed working in her vegetable garden, feeding animals, watching birds, and fishing. She also loved to put puzzles together. Dorothy had a wonderful sense of humor and always cared for other people above herself.

Those left behind to cherish her loving memory include her husband, Gilbert Lloyd, Jr. of Pope, MS; her children, Elizabeth Rose Lemke of Port Washington, WI, Catherine Ruth Lemke of St. Paul, MN, Harmonie Soyk of New York, NY., Sacia Ferrill of Milwaukee, WI, Chelsea Lloyd also of Milwaukee, WI, William Jerome Lloyd of Sheboygan, WI, and Bryce Lloyd of Phoenix, AZ.; two sisters, Joanne Kruse of South Dakota, and Mary Moore of Phoenix, AZ.; four brothers, Paul Dempsey of West Bend, SD., David Dempsey of Wisconsin, Tom Dempsey of Hope, IN, Ted Dempsey of Sioux Falls, SD.; her mother, Dorothy R. Brown Dempsey of Sioux Falls, SD.; numerous nieces and nephews; and 10 grandchildren, Graciela, Paul Jr., Vivianne, Kayla, Mya, Alayna, Derrick, Jahzara, Jahnia, and Zayne. 

Besides her father, Dorothy was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Dempsey.

The family will be having a memorial service on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Wells Funeral Home, 340 Hwy 35 N., Batesville MS 38606
