Dorothy Faye "Dot" Stewart Copeland, age 87, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston, MS. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 6, 2023, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends prior to the service at 12:30. Following the service, the interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS.

Dorothy Faye, or Dot as most people knew her, was born October 12, 1935 to the late John B. Stewart and Annie Mae Moore Stewart in Batesville. Dot worked as a secretary for First Baptist Church and the Panola County Extension Service. Dot was an avid reader. She adored her family and  spending time with her grandchildren. Dot was a member of Batesville First Baptist Church. 

Dot leaves behind two children, Stewart Copeland (Jay) of Mobile, AL., Dale Copeland (Angie) of Courtland; two grandchildren, Jim Tom Copeland (Emily) of Batesville, Sam C. Copeland (Lindsey) of Courtland; two precious great grandchildren, Saylor Margaret Copeland, and Elise Scott Copeland. 

In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmy D. Copeland; two siblings, Ethel Audrey Stewart and Charles Canoy Stewart.
