Dorothy E. "Dot" Boatright, age 86, passed away January 1, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.

Funeral services for Mrs. Boatright will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 at Wells Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service Friday at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Albert Beard will officiate. 

Dot was born February 28, 1932 to the late William Buford Bonner and Zelma Elizabeth Burchell Malone in Lambert, MS. She was the owner of Dot's Drive-In Restaurant in Batesville and worked for the Hosiery Mill in Batesville. Later in life she enjoyed sitting on her front porch and greeting family and friends. She also enjoyed working in her yard. She was a member of Courtland Baptist Church. 

The loving family she leaves behind include 4 children, Judy D. Inman (Tim) of Courtland, Lisa D. Chambers of Courtland, Sherry D. Hall (Allen) of Pope, and Fred H. Shirley, Sr. (Gwen) of Enid; step-daughter, Sandra B. Roy of Oxford; step-son, Ross Boatright, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Oxford; one sister, Eleanor Freeman of Batesville; 6 grandchildren, Fred H. "Chip" Shirley (Veronika), Amy Shirley, Heather Nicholson (Daniel), Christopher Hudson, Matthew Hall, Amanda H. Prince (Billy); 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dot is preceded in death by her husband, Ross Boatright, Sr.; one brother, William B. "Bill" Bonner, Jr.; and one granddaughter, Jessica Lane Chambers.
