Katherine Skipper

Katherine Skipper, age 82, passed away Monday afternoon, February 18, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.

Funeral services for Mrs. Skipper will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with visitation beginning at 12 noon prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Forrest Memorial Park. 

Katherine was born October 15, 1936 to the late Manton H. Hayes and Stella Watts Hayes in Fair Bluff, N.C. Katherine married Donald Eugene Skipper in November of 1959 and together they raised 3 children. Katherine worked as an office assistant for Allen & Hoshall Engineers in Memphis, TN. She was a member of First Faith Baptist Church. Katherine adored her family and playing with her grandchildren. She loved shopping and watching TV shows, especially the Young and the Restless.

The family she leaves behind include her loving husband, Donald Eugene Skipper of Batesville; daughter, Donna J. Tisdale of Batesville; 2 sons Joey Skipper (Valery) of Byhalia, and Bobby Dale Skipper (Rhonda) of Batesville; 2 sisters, Elsie Turner and Susie Causey both of Merion, SC.; 5 brothers, Ray Hayes of Sumter, SC., Tommy Hayes of Merion, SC., Joe Hayes of Charlotte, NC., Ronnie Hayes of Nichols, SC., and Charles Hayes of Fair Bluff, NC.; 8 grandchildren, Jodi Hubbard, Shanna Waters, Ashley Tisdale and her fiancée Matt Daniel, Emily Skipper, Michael Anthony Tisdale and his fiancée Stefanie Bray, Daniel Skipper, Joleigh Bray and Aiden Bray; 10 great grandchildren, Mallorie Tisdale, Katie Daniel Mattie Daniel, Janie Tisdale, Ella Waters, Lilly Akil, Keller Perkins, Hance Tisdale, Kayson Hubbard, and Jensen Williams.

In addition to her parents, Katherine is preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca Hayes; 2 brothers, Douglas Hayes, and Johnny Hayes; and one grandchild, Kristen Lane.
