Livestream of Funeral Service

Diana Newton DuBois, age 51, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.

Funeral services for Diana will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 28, 2024 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00, and Reverend Jim Scruggs will officiate.

Diana was born on December 21, 1972, to the late Jimmy Newton and the late Wallie Newton in Lauf, Germany. She obtained a degree in business at Northwest Mississippi Community College and later received a cosmetology license. In the last 10 years, she stepped away from the chair for a job in accounting that she absolutely loved. Even through her journey with cancer, she strived to be at her desk doing all she could to help Gary Kornegay, who was like a father figure in her life.

Diana was an avid collector of both Peter’s and McCarty pottery. It was not uncommon to call her on a Saturday morning and her to say she was headed to the delta. This is a pastime she shared with many close friends. Speaking of friends, Diana had a circle of girls who most could only dream of. They were more than just friends; they were family. She loved traveling, especially to the beach and had a passion for exercise. Her proudest accomplishments were being a mother to Jordan and Lake, and “DeDe” to her grandson, Hyland.

Diana loved the Lord, Jesus Christ. Her faith through this journey remained as strong as ever. She had a servant’s heart and even in her darkest hours put others before herself.

The family she leaves behind to cherish her loving memory includes her daughter, Jordan K. Jordan (Brandon) of Hernando, MS; son, Lake DuBois (Laura) of Houston, TX; sisters, Sandy Guntharp (Tim) of Memphis, TN, Claudia Newton of Olive Branch, MS, Katrina Nix of Batesville, MS; brother, Jerry Newton of Hernando, MS; one precious grandson, Hyland Jordan.
