Dena Barnes Whittington

Dena Barnes Whittington, age 56, passed away on, August 13, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was the wife of Roger Whittington of Charleston.

Funeral services for Dena will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 at Wells Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Clear Springs Cemetery near Coffeeville. Rev. Terrell McGregor will officiate.

Dena was born June 1, 1963 to the late RC. Barnes and Gladys Thompson Barnes in Turrell, AR. She was a homemaker during her lifetime who had the pleasure of taking care of her family. Dena was a member of Tocowa Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and crafts, bird watching, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

Dena is preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers, Robert, Charles, and Doug Barnes.
Survivors include her loving husband, Roger D. Whittington of Charleston; daughter, Amanda W. Bonner of Courtland; son, Cole Whittington of Pope; sisters, Bobbie Jean Oswald, Glinda Fay Sanders, Tina Davis, Tabatha Walker, and Linda Mulins; brothers, Troy Barnes, Victor Barnes, and Danny Ray Lyles; and four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bonner, Julianne Whittington, Bradley Bonner, and Ellis Whittington.
