David Lynn Walker

Attorney David L. Walker, age 62, passed away Saturday morning, June 30, 2018, at his home in Batesville, MS. Mr. Walker was the husband of Anne Finch Walker.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Monday, July 2, 2018, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the family receiving friends Sunday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home. The interment will follow the funeral service in Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS.

David was born March 10, 1956 in Mayfield, KY to the late Charles Walker and Eva Walker Langston. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1978 to 1982. Following his honorable discharge, David received his law degree from the University of Mississippi and began practice in 1985. In 1997, he was on the Board of Governors of the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association, and has been a public defender of Panola and Tate Counties for twenty-nine years.

David is survived by his wife, Anne Finch Walker of Batesville, MS; three daughters, Ashley Walker of Birmingham, AL, Jacque Walker of Batesville, MS, Amy Wallace Walker of Batesville, MS; son, J.R. Walker of Boulder, CO; three grandchildren, Nataleigh-Anne Walker, Violet Walker, Colin Walker; sister, Ginny Mathis of Cookeville, TN; three brothers, Donald Walker of Mayfield, KY, Glenn Walker of Murray, KY, Jerry Walker of Mayfield, KY.
