Dale Eugene Scanlan, Sr.

Dale Eugene Scanlan, Sr., age 95, of Senatobia, MS, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Sardis Lake Baptist Church with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow the service at Friendship East Cemetery in Charleston, Mississippi with military honors. Dale was born November 8, 1928 in La Harp, IL to the late Earl Scanlan and Jessie Mabry Scanlan. After High School, dale enlisted in the United State Navy where he served honorably for 21 years before retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. In his spare time, Dale enjoyed gardening, fishing, and loved serving the Lord. He was a member of Sardis Lake Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Scanlan and three siblings, Darlene Bostock, JoAnn Henson, ad Jerald Scanlan. The family he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife, Helen Scanlan, four children; Janet Petterson (Robert), of Lynchburg, VA, Deborah Scanlan (Mike), of Carrabelle, FL, Karen Scanlan, of Franfurt, KY, and Dale Scanlan, Jr., (Carla), of Lynchburg, VA; three step-children, Mike Mulvihill, of Brandon, MS, Dr. Jim Mulvihill, of Brandon, MS, and Lisa Tisue (Alan), of Fort Worth, TX; two brothers, Richard Scanlan (Judy) and Harold Scanlan (Sharon); five grandchildren, Nicholas Petterson (Samantha), Lauren Allen (Trevor), Blake Scanlan (Candace), Josh Birmingham, and Corey Scanlan; five step-grandchildren, Samantha Smith (Nathan), Michael Tisue, Noah Tisue, Joshua Tisue, and Matthew Mulvihill (Sarah); and eight great-grandchildren.
