Dale Leonard King

Dale Leonard King, age 78, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019, at his home near Batesville, MS.

A Celebration of Life for Dale will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 18, 2019, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with family receiving friends beginning at 12:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Dale was born May 31, 1940 in Ludington, MI to the late Leonard L. and Emma Hansen King. He was of the Methodist faith and was a retired purchasing manager for Crown, Cork and Seal in Batesville, MS. In Dale’s spare time, he loved woodworking. He mastered making writing pens from various types of wood and deer antlers.

Dale’s loving memory will be cherished by his wife, Ruth G. Marmon King of Batesville, MS; two daughters, Terri L. Chandler (Billy) of Batesville, MS, Cindy K. Jones (Tony) of Batesville, MS; two sisters, Janet Begin (Ken) of Buchanan, MI, Hazel Benedict (late husband, Richard) of Jennison, MI; honorary brother for life, Lyle Collins of Ludington, MI; three grandchildren, Daniel Chandler, Doug Jones, Cindy Marie Roper; four great-grandchildren.

Other than Dale’s parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis King (Mary) of Zeeland, MI and infant brother, Walter Lee King of Ludington, MI.
