Clare Keys Alexander, age 97, passed away Sunday evening, August 5, 2018 at the Panola Medical Center in Batesville, MS. Clare was the widow of Horace H. Alexander.
Funeral services for Clare will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Batesville First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 at the church. Interment will follow the service at Magnolia Cemetery. Dr. Tommy Snyder and Dr. Robert Self will officiate. Wells Funeral Home of Batesville has charge.
Clare was born August 13, 1920 to the late William Benjamin Keys and Nona Belle Marshall Keys in Batesville, MS. Clare was a homemaker during her lifetime. She was a member of the Extension Homemakers Club and was a MS Homemakers Volunteer. She was a loyal member of Batesville First Baptist Church where she was an officer in W.M.U.
The loving family she leaves behind include her daughters, Kay Millikin Riales and her late husband Kenneth of Southaven, Nancy Millikin Tubbs and her late husband Odie of Batesville, Carol Alexander Bland (Cecil) of Pope, Ann Alexander Dees (Bob) of Como; son, Thomas Lynn Alexander of Taylor; her sister, Cora Belle Keys Patterson of Monroe, LA., 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Clare is preceded in death by one son, Horace Keith Alexander.
In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations in Clare’s honor to be made to the Southern Baptist International Mission Board, the Southern Baptist North American Mission Board or the Panola County Humane Society.
