Christopher Steven Gray, age 37, passed away with his family by his side on December 11, 2022 at his home in Oakland, MS.

Funeral services for Christopher will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022.  Brother Damon Plummer will be leading the service at The Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the funeral home from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Christopher will be laid to rest at Graystone Family Cemetery in Oakland, MS.

Christopher was born in Clarksdale, MS on May 10, 1985 to Debbie Poynor Gray Lantrip and the late Michael Len Gray.  He graduated from South Panola High School.  Chris was in the Marching Band where he played trumpet and shared in many memories with fellow members.  He worked as a Pharmacy Technician for Walmart where he was a part of a close family of friends.  Chris was an avid gamer, enjoyed listening to music, and was always known to help others in need.

Christopher is survived by his son, Cael Gabriel Gray of Oakland, MS; his mother and step father, Debbie Gray Lantrip and Jerry Lantrip of Pope, MS; brothers, Michael (Tausha) Gray of Oakland, MS, Scotty Gray of Korea; half- brother, James Joseph Gray of Brooklyn, MS; step-brothers, Jerry Lantrip, Jr., Corey Lantrip both of Illinois, Jason Lantrip of Texas, Jj Lantrip of Batesville, MS and Jon Lantrip of Pope, MS; grandparents, Betty Alexander of Oakland, MS, and Johnnie Lantrip of Batesville, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews which he loved very much.  Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Michael Gray; grandparents, John Poynor, Sr and Rufus and Deloris Gray.

Chris was an inspiration to everyone who met him.  His spirit, heart, and memory will live on for many generations.
