Charlie Ruth Cole

Charlie Ruth Cole, age 84, passed away Sunday afternoon, May 10, 2020 at her home in Oxford, MS.

A graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 15, 2020 at Magnolia Cemetery with Rev. Fletcher Moorman and Dr. Gary Berry officiating.

Charlie Ruth was born on September 3, 1935 to the late Robert Onkst and Nora Catherine Eubanks Onkst in Panola County, MS. She was a homemaker during her lifetime and a member of Pinelake Baptist Church. While living in Jackson, MS, Charlie Ruth enjoyed playing tennis. She also loved music, and was an accomplished pianist and organist.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her loving memory include her husband, John Cole of Oxford, MS; two daughters, Melanie Kathryn Doran of Rutledge, GA, and Laura Beth Darby (Brad) of Oxford, MS; one sister, Barbara McCarley of Batesville, MS; one brother, James Robert Eubanks of Ardmore, AL; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Charlie Ruth was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Allison Groover.
