Charles E. Munn

August 29, 1930 — July 23, 2020

Charles E. Munn, age 89, passed away Thursday evening, July 23, 2020 at his home in Sardis, MS. He was the widower of Margarete Munn.

Graveside services for Charles will be held at 6:00 Sunday evening, July 26, 2020 at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 prior to service at Wells Funeral Home. Rev. Tim McMillan will officiate.

Charles was born August 29, 1930 to the late Dewitt Munn and Martha Nettery Munn in Quincy. MS. Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. He worked as a lab tech for Proctor and Gamble in Memphis for 35 years before retiring. In his spare time he enjoyed turkey hunting and fishing for flat head catfish. Charles was a kind good hearted man who loved his family.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margarete Munn.

Survivors include his nieces and nephews; Betty Thompson of Southaven, Wilma Cantrel of Amory, Joann Weber (Ben) of Memphis, TN., Ethelene Bell of Hamilton, AL., Martha Gory of Tupelo; sisters, Merle Munn Wells of Memphis, TN., and Edna Munn Crenshaw also of Memphis; brother, Dewitt Munn, Jr. of Greenwood Springs; special friend, Jennifer Sandford; along with a host of many great friends.
