Charles Clifton Finch, II, affectionately known as "Chuck", passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the Baptist-East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Funeral services for Chuck will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Chuck will be laid to rest at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville, MS.

Chuck was born on February 20, 1960 in Batesville, Mississippi to the late Governor Cliff Finch and Zelma Smith Finch. He was a cherished educator and a dedicated member of the community, leaving behind a legacy that will be fondly remembered by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Chuck served as a Spanish teacher at H.W. Byers High School in Holly Springs, MS. His commitment to education extended beyond the classroom; he played a significant role in the administration of the school and was a trusted role model for his students. His colleagues admired his dedication and viewed him as a source of inspiration. Chuck truly loved his school and was deeply invested in the success and well-being of his students.

In addition to his passion for education, Chuck also served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. Outside of his professional life, he was known for his generous spirit. He was a very giving person, always willing to lend a helping hand or offer support to those in need. His love for life extended to his hobbies, among which playing golf brought him great joy as well as being an avid Ole Miss sports fan.

Chuck is survived by his two siblings, Anne Finch Walker of Batesville, MS, and Stephen Nicholas Finch of Oxford, MS. He was also a proud uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Chuck is preceded in death by one sister, Janet Harrington Finch Sedano.

Chuck will be missed dearly by his friends, colleagues, and students, who will carry his lessons and spirit with them. His contributions to the field of education and his heartfelt approach to life will always be remembered.
