Carl M. Bolton

Carl M. Bolton, age 90, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Diversicare Nursing Home in Batesville, MS.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 24, 2020 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 A.M prior to the service. The interment will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Wesley Bolton, Nathan Bowden, Heath Bolton, Dylan Bolton, Michael Johnson, and Lane Massey. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Thompson, Ricky Smith, Shannon Massey, Jimmy Dale Bolton, Ricky Brown, Dennis Darby, Sylvester Bolton, Monty Bates, Wade Meek, and Eddie Meek.

Carl was born March 3, 1929 in Batesville, MS to the late Robert Lewis and Ola Mae Anthony Bolton. He was a member of the former Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Pope, MS and attended Liberty Hill Baptist Church in recent years. Carl was a carpenter by trade that had built many things for the people of Panola County and surrounding areas. While Carl wasn't working, He enjoyed watching basketball games on TV and eating ice cream with his family. Later in his '80's, Carl built porch swings to pass time.

He leaves behind a caring and loving family, that includes, two daughters, Brenda Bolton Bowden (C.W.) of Pope, MS, Glenda Bolton Johnson (John David) of Courtland, MS; three sons, Lee Bolton (Sandra) of Batesville, MS, Tommy Bolton of Courtland, MS, Randy Bolton of Batesville, MS; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Bolton Bricoe; two sisters, Margie Bolton Tapper and Aileene Bolton McMinn; brother, James Lewis Bolton; granddaughter, Amy Todd, and a great-grandson, Christopher Todd.
