Brian Phillip Sergi, Sr.

Sgt. Brian Phillip Sergi, Sr. USMC(retired), formerly of Bridgewater, Massachusetts passed away at the age of 72 at his home in Batesville, MS on Tuesday, June 18, 2019.

Funeral services for Brian will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, June 21, 2019 in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service Friday at Magnolia Cemetery with Military Honors.

Brian was born March 26, 1947 to the late Albert Richard Sergi and Lorraine Bouchard Sergi in Boston, Massachusetts. Brian was retired from the United States Marine Corps due to injuries sustained in combat during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Batesville First United Methodist Church. Brian most enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  In his spare time he enjoyed shooting pool and watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He was very well known locally for his famous homemade pizza.

Brian is survived by his loving wife, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Seay Sergi of Batesville, MS, his sister, Martha Sergi Costello (John) of Carver, MA,  his two daughters, Kimberly Pardoe Crenshaw (Tommy) of Batesville, MS, and Drew Magee Bass (Jody) of Pontotoc, MS; his two sons, Walter Jason Pardoe (Jennifer) of Oxford, MS, and Brian Phillip Sergi, Jr. “Pip” (Ali) of  Batesville, MS; 6 grandchildren, Austin Atkinson, C.J. Bickerstaff, Brian Phillip Sergi, III “Tripp”, Blake Sergi, Aldyn Sergi, and Rachel Crenshaw; and one great grandchild, Jacey McMillan.

Along with his parents, Brian is preceded in death by one sister, Pam Sergi, and two brothers, Neil and Michael Sergi, all of Bridgewater, MA.

In lieu of flowers the family ask to send donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
