Livestream of Funeral Service

Boyd C. Goodnight, Jr., age 78, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at Senatobia Health and Rehab in Senatobia, MS. 

The funeral service will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 at 2pm in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Private interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park. 

Boyd was born November 15, 1945 in Batesville, MS to the late Boyd C. Goodnight, Sr. and Ethel Gant Goodnight McCullar. A longtime member of Longstreet United Methodist Church in Memphis, TN, Boyd later attended Piperton United Methodist Church and Rossville United Methodist Church. Before his retirement. Boyd was a truck driver and his work ethic was unmatched. He enjoyed working and always tried to stay busy. Boyd's family was extremely special to him, especially his children and grandchildren. He did his best to keep his family close at all times.

In addition to his parents, Boyd was preceded in death by two sons: Jody Goodnight and Clay Goodnight.

The family he leaves to cherish his memory include his Wife, Faye Briscoe Goodnight, his daughter, Allison Gartrell (Jodey), and two siblings, Gene Goodnight and Cheryl Baird. He also leaves five grandchildren, Callie Moffitt (Dewey), Jacob Bridges, Nick Rikard, Joash Gartrell, and Madison Gartrell, and seven great-grandchildren, Kaycee, Jaxon, Emersyn, Bryson, Isaiah, Jameson, and Baylor.
